Dumb Cane (also known as Dieffenbachia or the Leopard lily. Easy to care for once of the most common problems with growing dumbcane dieffenbachia is too much moisture. Follow our easy guide to keep the dumbcane dieffenbachia houseplant growing and thriving.  
 
Lighting: Dumb Cane (Dieffenbachias) will sunburn if they get any direct sun at all, and the leaves will yellow and curl. The plant does better in a low light environment.
 
Water: Plant the dumbcane in well-draining soil and water lightly, keeping the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Check the soil to make sure it is dry an inch down before watering the dieffenbachia plant.
 
Temperature: The Dieffenbachia plant does well as a houseplant, thriving with year-round room temperatures averaging 65-75 degrees. Temperatures below 60 degrees can harm the plant.
