Origin: Tillandsia's are native to the forests, mountain, and deserts of Central and South America. Including parts of the southern United States.
Most tillandsia's are epiphytes which means they normally grow without soil. Generally, the thinner leaves are from rainy areas while the thicker leaves are found on tillandsia's in dry areas.
