Meet the Gerbera

The Gerbera plant is a vibrant flowering plant known for its large, daisy-like blooms in bright colors. It thrives in well-draining soil and plenty of sunlight, making it a popular choice for gardens and indoor decor. Gerberas symbolize cheerfulness and are often used in floral arrangements. Regular watering and occasional fertilizing help maintain their long-lasting blooms.

   Common Problems Q&A

Why are my Gerbera’s leaves turning yellow?

Yellowing leaves can be caused by overwatering, poor drainage, or a lack of nutrients. Make sure the soil is well-draining, allow the top inch to dry out between waterings, and feed the plant with a balanced fertilizer every few weeks.

Why is my Gerbera not blooming?

Gerberas need plenty of sunlight (at least 6 hours per day) and regular deadheading to encourage continuous blooms. If your plant isn’t blooming, check that it’s getting enough light, avoid excessive nitrogen in fertilizer, and remove spent flowers to promote new growth.

Why are my Gerbera's flowers wilting quickly?

Wilting flowers can be a sign of too much heat, inconsistent watering, or fungal issues. Keep the plant in partial shade during the hottest parts of the day, water deeply in the morning, and ensure good air circulation to prevent disease.
