- Description: The lemon verbena plant blooms. It flourishes in Iran, southern Europe, northern Africa, and South America. The flowering tops and leaves are used to manufacture medication. There isn't enough solid scientific data to support the use of lemon verbena for multiple sclerosis (MS), insomnia, exercise-induced muscle damage, digestive disorders including gas or diarrhea, or other diseases. Lemon verbena is used in meals and manufactures as an ingredient in alcoholic beverages, as a fragrance in fragrances, and as a component of herbal teas.
